For students from underrepresented communities — particularly Black, Hispanic, and first-generation college students — these costs are compounded by limited access to traditional financial aid, family financial obligations, and the need to work while studying. The result: talented, motivated individuals who could become exceptional nurses are forced to delay, pause, or abandon their education entirely.
